I was listening to a podcast today and I heard the following statement; “Stop waiting for others to do what you can do for yourself.” That one line hit me like a ton of bricks.
If you’re like me, it’s easy to take your proverbial foot off the gas pedal and wait for someone else to validate our dreams. What I mean by that is that we sometimes give in to fear and lack belief until someone else validates our dream by encouraging us. We wait for permission to do something exceptional. Usually that permission never comes, so we never act.
Art Williams is famous for uttering the words, “All you can do is all you can do. There ain’t nothing more you can do. It’s the absolute maximum!” He went on to say, “All you can do is all you can do, but all you can do is enough.”

What we need to realize is that may not happen until after we take action and start moving in the direction of that dream. One of my mentor’s once told me, “Mark, it’s time to take responsibility for your own future and stop waiting for other people to validate your vision. Trust that your dream is worth fighting for and get to work! Others will follow but only after you start your journey.”
In other words, don’t wait for others to do what you can do for yourself
